DVD/Training Video: Elections Ontario |
Client: Navantis
This was our largest video project ever! Shaw Street Productions was selected to partner with Navantis Inc. to produce training materials for Elections Ontario in preparation for the 2007 Fall Election. This training endeavour was part of Elections Ontario’s latest initiative for both in-class and online elearning based training. Approximately 70,000 Poll Officials and Field Staff were trained province-wide in both English and French using these materials.
For this project we produced two 60 minute videos in both official languages delivering 240 minutes of final content. Undertaken with a very short deadline, our mandate was essentially to recreate voting day and run the trainees through all the intricacies of the election process, following the current legislative guidelines. Entrusted with all aspects of production, we brought together a solid team to deliver the final product. The team’s responsibilities ranged from script writing and translating to location searching and talent casting. This project included a five day shoot in various GTA locations, including three very long days in a school gym with over thirty actors, extras, and crew. Two video editors worked along side our graphic artists to produce the final content which also included a DVD with a comprehensive chapter menu system. All this was accomplished in 90 days. |

CD/Web: Spring '09 Product Catalogue |
Client: Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
The Canadian Standards Association approached us late last year to help with the production of a direct mail product catalogue on CD. The challenge was to integrate a variety of web properties under their umbrella into one concise index of web links organized by sector and product group. In short, this CD fast tracks searching the vast array of services and programs available through CSA. Working in tandem with their designers, we programmed this robust Flash interface using XML technology for ease of updates and revisions. Over 100,000 CDs were distributed to specific niche-market businesses directly and through insertion in industry trade publications. |

CDs: Direct Mail |
Client: American Express / Buck Productions
Using the client's new advertising campaign as a starting point, we created an in-depth, easy-to-use, CD-ROM aimed at increasing membership for a new credit card product. The disc includes detailed card information, an application that utilizes user input to "choose the best card" for the user, as well as puzzles, games, and a travel point budget calculator. As the user navigates through the disc, they are subtly prompted to apply for the card, which they can do via phone, web, or printable application forms.
A large aspect of this project involved creating an online tracking server. The purpose was to provide the client with real-time statistics gathered from the campaign. If a user was online while using the disc, the tracking server would pick up ever screen view, the time spent in each section, as well as general usage stats. The result was a detailed analysis of the campaign's success. Of course – privacy being a major issue – we ensured that no private, identifiable, or specific user information – such as IP addresses – would be gathered. |

Gaming: X & O – Driving Distractions |
Client: The Gabor Group / IBC
Over the past few years we have developed several custom web games on behalf of The Gabor Group and their client IBC. These web-based Flash games have been created with several goals in mind. Customer engagement, retention and education were key, along with keeping visitors on the site longer while delivering educational materials.
The X & O game, part of a major media campaign, was geared to increasing client knowledge of insurance products while separating fact from fiction. The driving distractions game played a part in the recent IBC campaign to educate the public on the risks of cell usage while driving, and lobby the government to pass legislation against cell phone usage in cars. |

Web: laserdentistry.ca |
Client: TASC Group Corporation
This website project designed for The TASC group, challenged us to implement an open source content management system (CMS), where the client can update seminar schedules and offerings through access to a secure user portal. We implemented their new branding into every aspect of the design, giving the site a clean, easy-to-navigate appearance. Segregating the product streams TASC services was instrumental in ensuring users find the information they seek with the fewest clicks possible. |

Video: Mattamy |
Client: Mattamy Homes
Once again we are very pleased to report that Mattamy Homes has engaged Shaw Street Productions to produce video materials for their new sales centre in Brampton. As Rhythm is Mattamy’s first mid-rise condo development, they envisioned a video presentation that would not only capture the vibe of this up and coming new area but also attract attention in the sales centre environment. We realized Mattamy’s vision by combining black and white images of hip models and beautiful colour photos of downtown Brampton with a jazzy music score that worked well to create motion in a very rhythmic fashion. |
